Centre for the promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI) and organization of the Netherlands Government has launched 'CBI ITC Export Coaching Program 2008-14'. The objectives of CBI ITC ECP is the institutional development of the Business Support Organization (BSOs) of the target countries and promotion of export of IT related products of the participating companies to the EU market.

Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), as the largest trade promotion organization of the country and advocator of Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative, wants to reduce cost of doing business and create a hassle free business environment. DCCI proposed to National Board of Revenue (NBR) its interest to undertake a project on Dhaka Customs House Automation (DCHA) under Public Private Partnership (PPP) model in 2008 with an objective to reduce bureaucratic tangles and cumbersome process of paying taxes and at the same time increase revenue by ensuring transparency and accountability. The project will improve efficiency by better risk management, save time for each stakeholder, improve productivity, accountability and compliant to WCO definition by introducing world class IT infrastructure.

Having a commitment to reduce cost of doing business and ensuring hassle-free business transactions in Bangladesh, DCCI has successfully implemented Dhaka Customs House Automation Project as Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative. The commercial operation of the project was started on 01 June, 2011. DCCI believes that full commercial operation of the project will help reducing customs related hassles of the private sector.

A project titled Netherlands Trust Fund II (NTF II) on Creating Sustainable Exporters Competitiveness in the IT and ITES Sectors in Bangladesh have been taken jointly by DCCI and BASIS in cooperation with International Trade Centre (ITC) and Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI). The main objective of the project is to build sustainable exporters competitiveness in the IT and IT-enabled services (ITES) in Bangladesh in order to build commercial relationships between Bangladeshi suppliers and EU buyers and building capacity of Trade Support Institution (TSI) by providing B2B linkages. The project will also work for improving the Bangladesh brand as a destination for IT and ITES outsourcing.

The present government's Vision 2021 calls for Bangladesh to become a middle income country(MIC) by the year 2021 has inspired private sector to work in collaboration with the government to set several priorities so that targets of the Vision 2021 can be achieved.

“Reduction of environmental threats and increase of exportability of Bangladeshi leather products” is a project jointly undertaken by SEQUA, gGmbH, Germany, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Bavarian Employer Association (bfz, gGmbH), DCCI, Bangladesh Finished Leather Goods and Footwear Exporters Association (BFLLFEA) and Bangladesh Tanners Association (BTA). The project is supporting business entrepreneurs dealing with leather.

DCCI in corporation with WIPO and Ministry of Industries is going to establish a Technical Information Services Centre (TISC) in the Chamber to create awareness about IP issues in Bangladesh.
